Horizon Healthcare Staffing is continually recruiting for and seeking x-ray techs for our clients in the Union County, Hudson Valley, Middlesex County, Essex, and Monmouth County. One of the main locations that we are recruiting in is Northern New Jersey. Our clients include hospitals, private clinics, and designated radiology offices. Some offices are strictly related to mammography and mammograms. X-ray techs are often referred to as x-ray technologists, x-ray technicians, rad techs or radiological technologists. The abbreviation is a lot easier to write and to say! Most of our clients require applicants to be ARRT certified to even be considered for any of the open x-ray tech jobs throughout New York. You must also be New Jersey State licensed in order to start working for one of our clients.
The main job function of an x-ray tech is to use different imaging methods to visualize the inside of the human body. The x-ray images allow physicians to diagnose and treat illnesses or injuries with a high degree of accuracy. Have you ever had a broken hand from playing a sport, and had to visit a doctor to get diagnosed? Well the doctor will refer you to a radiology office or hospital to get x-rays. The x-ray tech will be the one to take pictures of your hand to help the orthopedist diagnose the type of treatment needed to heal your hand.
As always, it’s imperative that x-ray techs take the proper precautions during their shifts. They must protect vital organs when taking the pictures. The last thing you need is to be exposed to unnecessary radiation during your job. You must adhere to proper safety precautions and wear the required protective gear.
The x-ray techs job duties might include preparing patients for radiological exams, operating and maintaining radiological equipment, developing and interpreting radiological images, and organizing medical date for review and interpretation.
