Essex Community College offers a Physical Therapy Assistant program located in Newark, NJ. The PTA program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). PTAs provide care for people in a variety of settings, including hospitals, private practices, outpatient clinics, home health agencies, schools, sports and fitness facilities, work settings, and nursing homes. PTAs must graduate from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program and licensure, or certification is required in most states in which a PTA works.

Mercer County Community College offers a Physical Therapy Assistant program where students will earn their associate in applied science degree. Rowan College of South Jersey has a Physical Therapy Assistant program where students will earn an Associate’s degree. This program is accredited by the CAPTE and students will need to complete a minimum of 60 credits in order to graduate.
