Horizon Healthcare Staffing is searching for a VP of clinical services for one of our clients in Northern, New Jersey. This is a full time permanent position. Some travel may be required.
Job Description:
The Vice President of Clinical Services is responsible for the oversight and coordination of clinical strategies, analytics, quality including but not limited to the management of the transition of care for patient services from an inpatient to outpatient setting. This includes developing, setting, and monitoring benchmark outcomes, designing care roadmaps, and collaboration and education with healthcare personnel of all levels to achieve desired clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities / Role:
- This role is responsible for quality, patient safety, and outcome initiatives. It ensures that transition initiatives are efficient, aligned with evidence-based practices, and updated to reflect regulatory changes.
- Directly responsible for developing and documenting processes, monitoring and training to ensure the integrity and accuracy of clinical data systems. Works to identify opportunities to improve outcomes, reduce cost, and provide on-going assessment of standards, and programs.
- A primary focus of this role is the implementation of a systematic, coordinated measurement and evaluation process for the purpose of improving transition care, systems processes, and patient outcomes.
- The Vice President will develop and perform continuous quality improvement program activities to assure safe, efficient, and cost-effective, high quality patient care.
- The Vice President will also assume a leadership role in the development, monitoring, reporting, and improvement of activities related to clinical pathways and guidelines.
- Responsibility includes implementing a data management system involving the identification of quality, safety, and outcome metrics; presenting reports of transition initiatives and outcome monitoring to senior management; and developing strategic plans in transitional care in collaboration with management and clinical leaders.
- The scope of this role includes a variety of tasks and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Knowledge, Education, & Skills required:
- Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing
- Master’s degree in nursing
- Minimum of 7 years of oncology nursing experience
- Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) or Total Quality Management (TQM) and minimum of five years of performance improvement experience
- Strong leadership skills and excellent analytical, group dynamics, organizational, and planning skills
- Clinical knowledge of payment systems and methodologies, coding concepts and guidelines.
- Experience guiding clinical design, planning and implementation.
- Excellent written and oral skills
Knowledge, Education, & Skills Preferred:
- 7 or more years of nursing experience
- 5 or more years of performance improvement experience
- Oncology Nursing Society certification
- Quality Management certification
Required Certification/Licensing:
- Current valid NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license
- Maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support HCP Certification
