Substitute School Registered Nurse (RN)

Horizon Healthcare Staffing is currently in need of a Registered Nurse (RN) to work in the health office as a Substitute School Nurse for the remainder of the 24’-25’ school year!

Can we help provide a shorter commute for you? This position is in Newark, NJ!

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Assignment: ASAP – 6/2025

Hours: 8:10am-3:10pm

Additional Details: Work alongside 2 other RNs! RN must have recent Trach, Gtube and Vent experience.

Responsibilities:

For Substitute Health Office Nurse:

• Provide direct nursing care to students and staff who visit the health office for various health concerns, including minor injuries, illnesses, and medication administration.
• Assists the RN in screening students for health problems. (Spinal screening, vision screening, immunization audit, etc.)
• Float to all schools plus ride bus at the end of the day with student.
• State Immunization Reporting.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.

RN School Nurse Job Requirements:

• Registered Nurse in New Jersey: You must hold a valid and active RN license in the state of New Jersey.
• Current CPR Card: Possession of current CPR Card is required to ensure readiness in emergency situations.
• One (1) year of professional experience as a Registered Nurse
• Must be willing to get your NJ Department of Education Fingerprints (We reimburse)
