Horizon Healthcare Staffing is searching for Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses in Morris County! We currently have needs for RNs and LPNs to work in the health office as a general school nurse, or to work one to one with special needs students both in school and as a bus escort.
Full-time, part-time, and per-diem available!

School Nurse Job Details:
The school nurse provides health services for students and staff and acts as advocates and liaisons on health-related issues for students, families, and school personnel.
You are an integral part of the school program in supporting an optimum physical, mental, emotional, and social climate for all students and staff.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
For One-to-One Nurse:
- Provide one-on-one nursing care to students with special medical needs, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and addressing any health concerns or emergencies that may arise.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with parents, healthcare providers, and school personnel to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to provide updates on the student's health status and progress.
- Advocate for the student's health and educational needs within the school setting, ensuring that they have access to appropriate accommodations and support services.
For Health Office Nurse:
- Provide direct nursing care to students and staff who visit the health office for various health concerns, including minor injuries, illnesses, and medication administration.
- Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify health issues and provide appropriate interventions or referrals as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students, including immunization records, health history, and medication administration logs.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and parents to develop and implement health policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy school environment.
- Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics, including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
For Transportation Nurse:
- Provide healthcare support and assistance to students with special medical needs during school bus transportation, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the journey.
- Assess students' health status and administer medications or medical treatments as necessary during transportation.
- Communicate effectively with bus drivers, school administrators, and parents to coordinate transportation logistics and address any health-related concerns or emergencies during transit.
- Ensure that all necessary medical supplies and equipment are available and properly maintained on school buses to meet students' healthcare needs.
Qualifications
School Nurse Job Requirements:
- New Jersey Nursing License: You must hold a valid and active Registered Nurse license or be a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of New Jersey.
- Current CPR Card: Possession of current CPR Card is required to ensure readiness in emergency situations.
- One (1) year of professional experience as a Registered Nurse
- Must be willing to get your NJ Department of Education Fingerprints (We reimburse)
