Permanent School Registered Nurse (RN)

Horizon Healthcare Staffing currently has two openings for Permanent Registered Nurses (RNs) to work in the health office as School Nurse.

This position will be working directly for a day school in Bergen County, NJ!

Grade Level: Pre-K – 8th Grade

Students: 400

School Year: Starts August 1, 2025, ends mid- June

Schedule #1: 5 days/week (Full-time) Monday through Thursday 7:45a-4:00p | Fridays 7:45a-3:00p

OR

Schedule #2: 3-4 days/week (Part-Time): Monday through Thursday 7:45a-4:00p | Fridays 7:45a-3:00p

Responsibilities:

For Health Office Nurse:

• Provide direct nursing care to students and staff who visit the health office for various health concerns, including minor injuries, illnesses, and medication administration.
• Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify health issues and provide appropriate interventions or referrals as needed.
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students, including immunization records, health history, and medication administration logs.
• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and parents to develop and implement health policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy school environment.
• Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics, including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.

RN School Nurse Job Requirements:

• Registered Nurse in New Jersey: You must hold a valid and active Registered Nurse license in the state of New Jersey.
• Current CPR Card: Possession of current CPR Card is required to ensure readiness in emergency situations.
• One (1) year of professional experience as a Registered Nurse
• Must be willing to get your NJ Department of Education Fingerprints (We reimburse)
• Must be willing to obtain a school nurse certificate. (We reimburse!)
