Director of Nursing
Horizon Healthcare Staffing is searching for a Director of Nursing for one of our clients located in Brooklyn. The Registered Nurse should have experience with home infusion therapy.
Job Duties Include:
- Work alongside the Director of Pharmacy and collaborate with physicians in establishing, implementing and maintaining patient care and quality service standards
- Interviewing, hiring, training, and supervision of Registered Hi-Tech Skilled Nurses, planning, assigning, and directing work.
- Monitoring and assessment of patients receiving high risk infusions. Patient teaching, communication with Doctors, Pharmacists, Social workers and Dieticians to ensure continuity of care.
- Participating in performance improvement activities, teaching nurses when required and accepting triage calls from patients when necessary.
- Ensuring compliance with ACHC, DOH, and NYS Regulations.
- To maintain clinical credibility and recognition within the multidisciplinary team.
- To maintain an intricate knowledge of, and ensure staff compliance in the training, safe usage and maintenance of complex critical care equipment.
- To demonstrate sound levels of clinical judgment and decision making in implementing and/or modifying interventions.
- To accurately document patient assessment, interventions, referrals and/or follow ups.
- Track and monitor risk management incidents, medication errors, and patient safety issues.
- Oversee of all laboratory operations such as venipuncture, collection/prep of specimens, coordinate tracking system for lab results, medications and pharmaceutical samples.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree of nursing
- Current New York State Registered Nurse License
- At least eight years of nursing experience (preferably Hi-tech Skilled Nursing) and three to five years of progressive management experience.
- IV Certification
- PICC/MID-LINE Certification
- Previous outpatient and ambulatory clinical experience
- Candidate must be articulate and possess excellent verbal/written and listening communication skills and have the ability to communicate both verbally and written, with patients, clients, management and other employees.
- Must have strong knowledge base in clinical aspects of home infusion therapy.
