Home Care Therapists in New York
Home Care Therapist – A visiting nurse does not have the experience and skills to help you get back on your feet following an injury or illness. A therapist will be assigned to a patient when it is determined that therapy can help the patient recover movement, speech or cognitive ability. A therapist works with patients to be able to do the things that used to come easily. We all take the ability to walk or get in and out of a chair for granted but many patients need assistance in regaining these abilities. Our therapists will use their skills to help patients get back on their feet without the need for a visiting nurse. Homecare Therapies has occupational therapists and speech therapists in addition to physical therapists.
- Occupational Therapist – As a home care occupational therapist, you will be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary health care team that provides rehabilitative care and skilled nursing to clients, affording them the opportunity to receive the medical care required to remain at home. The overall purpose of a home care occupational therapist is to help people of all ages to have a safe home life with comfort, independence, and dignity.
- Physical Therapist – As a home care physical therapist, you will be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary health care team that provides rehabilitative care and skilled nursing to clients, affording them the opportunity to receive the medical care required to remain at home. The overall purpose of a home care physical therapist is to help people of all ages to have a safe home life with comfort, independence, and dignity.
- Speech Therapist – A home care speech therapist specializes in the evaluation and treatment of swallowing, cognition/thinking skills and communication disorders. SLP services aim to improve a person’s quality of life through regaining the ability to eat and swallow, improving cognitive skills for increased independence, and helping to regain communication skills to express wants, needs and ideas.
