Q: I don’t know what I need for in home care, can you help?
A: Our home care professionals are available by phone and are experienced in helping you determine what services are best to fit your situation. If necessary, we can also schedule an appointment for an in home care evaluation in your home. In this case a home care professional will travel to the home and assess the situation first hand and make recommendations.
Q: What type of home care caregivers do you have?
A: We offer a number of different specialists depending on the situation. All of our clinical professionals are certified and trained constantly in order to keep current with information and standards in their respective fields. Our professionals include the following:
- Registered Nurses
- Licensed Practical Nurses
- Home Health Aides
- Companions
- Personal Care Aides
- Physical Therapists
- Occupational Therapists
- Speech Language Pathologists
- PRI Clinicians
Q: What is a PRI?
A: A PRI is a Patient Review Instrument and is required before a client can be placed in a skilled nursing facility. The PRI is administered by a registered nurse and is used to determine the level of care and the type of facility required. It is regulated by the NYS Department of Health Healthcare Financing Administration. The evaluation is valid for 90 days.
Q: How quickly can you provide services?
A: Homecare Therapies is equipped to handle requests for in home care the same day if necessary or can schedule services weeks in advance. In order to ensure the proper specialist is available, it is recommended that a minimum notice of 24 hours be given.
Q: What are your hours?
A: Our regular office hours are 8:30 am to 7:00 pm Monday-Friday. An experienced registered nurse and a managed care coordinator are on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Q: Do I get to select my Home Health Professional?
A: We will assign a home care professional based on your need and our assessment. The individual we assign to your situation is based on the clinical need and your personal assessment as well. We will do our best to assign an individual that we feel will be compatible with you. If, for some reason, you do not like the person we assign to your case we will gladly assign a different individual.
Q: Are your home care clinical professionals insured?
A: All of our home care nurses and aides are insured and certified.
