Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse – Surgery Center

Horizon Healthcare Staffing is seeking a per diem operating room RN for a surgery center located in Central New Jersey and Northern New Jersey. This position is flexible day shifts.

Job Overview:
The Registered Nurse in the Surgical Center Operating Room will provide optimum patient care based on assessment of the patient’s physical and psychosocial needs. He/she is responsible for planning and implementation of the patient’s plan of care, communication with other team members and evaluations of the effectiveness of this care. He/she will provide a positive and professional atmosphere so as to enhance the patient’s surgical experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implement physician orders.
• Perform scrub and circulating duties as assigned.
• Provide for proper handling and care of equipment and supplies. Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, creating and maintaining a sterile field.
• Responsible for patient safety during perioperative event.
• Maintain a continuing awareness of individual patient needs, both physical and psychosocial, and strive to meet these needs.
• Function as a charge nurse as requested.
• Interpret and communicate information accurately.

Requirements:

• Valid / Current New Jersey State RN License
• Previous 1-2 years of operating room experience desirable.
