Location: Newark, NJ

Horizon Healthcare Staffing currently has an opening for a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to work in the health office as a Substitute School Nurse.

The Substitute School Nurse is responsible health screenings, health records, and basic nursing duties.

Schedule: 20/hours a week – Flexible schedule!

Grades: Pre-K ages 3 to 6 years old

Hours: 8:10am – 3:05pm

Responsibilities:

For Health Office Nurse:

• Provide direct nursing care to students and staff who visit the health office for various health concerns, including minor injuries, illnesses, and medication administration.
• Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify health issues and provide appropriate interventions or referrals as needed.
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students, including immunization records, health history, and medication administration logs.
• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and parents to develop and implement health policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy school environment.
• Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics, including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.

RN School Nurse Job Requirements:

• Registered Nurse in New Jersey: You must hold a valid and active Registered Nurse license in the state of New Jersey.
• Current CPR Card: Possession of current CPR Card is required to ensure readiness in emergency situations.
• One (1) year of professional experience as a Registered Nurse
• Must be willing to get your NJ Department of Education Fingerprints (We reimburse)
